Lily is a graduate planner at GMD Consultants. She joined the team in November 2019 on completion of her degree at the University of Waikato, having gained a Bachelor of Environmental Planning majoring in freshwater environments.
During her study, Lily also worked part time in the local government sector, working for Hamilton City Council in the Compliance Team through her last year of university. Her responsibilities included all things waste minimisation which honed her skills in community and stakeholder engagement, and in the organisation and management of large-scale waste management at events.
Since joining GMD, Lily has been involved with Waikato Regional Council in collating data and developing frameworks for the values of Outstanding Freshwater Bodies in the Waikato region. She has also aided WRC in the revision of the Regional Policy Statement for translation to e-Plan format. Other work that she has been involved in includes RMA assistance to Raukawa Charitable Trust and analysing the alignment of Waikato Iwi Management Plans with the Waikato Plan. Lily also processes land use applications on behalf of the New Zealand Transport Agency. This involves providing planning recommendations that best protect and maintain the integrity of the transport network.
Lily is enjoying the diversity of work provided through GMD Consultants and looks forward to broadening her professional development through the company.
