Emily brings a wealth of planning experience to GMD, shaped by her work both in local government and private consultancy within New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Since moving to the Waikato in 2009 Emily's work has focussed mostly on the development of policies and plans across a range of topic areas and legislative backgrounds including District and Regional Plans, Regional Policy Statements, Regional Land Transport Plans, and Reserve Management Plans. Prior to this Emily worked for Auckland City Council in the citywide strategy team developing spatial frameworks for the Auckland Isthmus Area; in London engaging with communities on transport implementation projects such as school travel plans, car clubs and controlled parking zones; and for a consultancy in Auckland preparing resource consent applications and Notices of Requirement for infrastructure projects.

Outside work Emily enjoys spending time with her family, making things, and spending time outdoors.
