Lisa has Ngapuhi, Ngāti Raukawa and Waikato whakapapa. She has expertise in environment and sustainable development, Iwi planning, policy, research and governance, as well as Māori natural resource management. She was previously the Chief Executive at Te Ohu Kaimoana, enabling the aspirations of 58 Iwi in their relationship with fisheries and the moana. She has a strong background in strategy working at an Executive and Governance level in various National and International organisations and has a future focus with every role and project she takes on. She is also a current research grant recipient from the University of Victoria, Vancouver Island - Canada, and this will go towards her Masters and PhD programme in Indigenous Governance and Sustainability over the next 3 years.

Lisa is also an engaging facilitator and has worked across various communities in creating resilient outcomes across projects. Complex challenges and problem solving are in Lisa’s wheelhouse and in her words ‘the harder the better!”.
